Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $17.06 – $22.87/hour
(Based on the 2025-2026 CSEA Salary Schedule) - Benefits:
- Eligible for Health Insurance (valued at up to $35,813.64 annually)
- OR Health Insurance Buyout (valued at up to $13,760 annually)
Job Responsibilities
The Teacher Aide will work directly with students in the classroom, supporting both instructional and behavioral needs. Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring student behavior in the classroom, on the bus, at lunch, during specials, and at recess
- Assisting with basic health, hygiene, and toileting as needed
- Collecting and documenting behavioral data
- Escorting students to and monitoring them during time-out (requires training in non-violent crisis intervention and physical restraint)
- Participating actively on the behavior management team
- Assisting the classroom teacher with daily instruction and routines
Candidate Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Good general intelligence and sound judgment
- Ability to build positive relationships with students
- Familiarity with classroom routines and procedures
- Strong clerical skills and computer literacy is a plus
- Professional, neat appearance
- Ability to maintain discipline and work cooperatively with staff
- Physically able to support student needs in an active classroom setting
