TYPE: 10-Month, Hourly
TITLE: School Bus Monitor
WORK LOCATION: Bus Garage
HOURS: 4 hrs/day (anticipated assignment – CVES bus run from 6:45 AM – 8:45 AM and 1:45 PM – 3:45 PM) (Work hours shall be determined by the Transportation Supervisor and will be while school is in session)
SALARY RANGE: $17.95 – $21.10/hr (Salary based on the 2026-27 CSEA Salary Schedule)
PERFORMANCE/SKILLS: Working knowledge of basic first aid methods; ability to
establish good relationships with students and others; clerical
aptitude; ability to understand and follow simple oral and
written directions; physical strength and ability to assist and
possibly lift a disabled student on and off the school bus;
patience and resourcefulness in dealing with a disabled student;
physical condition commensurate with the demands of the
position; collaboration with school nurse on food allergies and
epi-pen use.
Candidate must be at least 19 years old. Position
requires successful completion of a physical performance test
(PPT) and four (4) hours of monitor pre-service training prior to
riding the bus, and completion of a ten (10) hour training
course in August within the first year of employment.
