The Peru Central School District expects to appoint an individual to the following position for the 2025 – 2026 school year:
*Long Term Substitute (LTS) 1.0 FTE Elementary Teacher
Anticipated Assignment:
- Second Grade assignment, currently
- January 2026 – a date not to exceed June 30, 2026
Responsibilities May Include:
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
- Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying needs
- Use relevant technology to support instruction
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments
- Provide appropriate feedback on student work
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law, district policies and
- school regulations
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
- Participate in grade-level, school and parent meetings
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding
- student progress and student needs
- Keep updated with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make
relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
- Other duties per contract
Compensation:
- $53,501 – $101,677, prorated, commensurate with qualifications and experience
*Contingent upon completion of 30 days in the same assignment.
