Position: Full-Time Teacher Aide
Location: Peru High School (currently supporting a 10th grade general education classroom)
Hours: 6.5 hours/day
Hourly Rate: $17.06–$22.87 (per 2025–26 CSEA Salary Schedule)
Benefits: Eligible for Health Insurance (valued up to $35,813 annually) or a Health Insurance Buyout (valued up to $13,760 annually)
đź’Ľ About the Role
We’re looking for a caring, dependable individual to support our students and classroom teacher. Responsibilities may include:
• Monitoring student behavior in the classroom, on the bus, at lunch, specials, and recess
• Assisting with basic health, hygiene, and toileting if needed
• Collecting data on student behavior
• Escorting/monitoring students during time-out (experience with non-violent crisis intervention helpful)
• Participating as part of the behavior management team
• General classroom support under the teacher’s direction
• Using computers to support instructional tasks
Successful candidates should enjoy working with students, be able to maintain discipline with tact and good judgment, and present a neat, professional appearance.
