Teacher Aide/Student Aide (working as a 1:1 aide for a Grade 2 student in a 12:1:3:1 classroom and as a School Bus Monitor on
an elementary bus run)
1 – 10-Month position
WORK HOURS AND LOCATIONS: 7.5 hrs/day in the Primary School and Bus Garage (Work hours shall
be determined by the Primary Principal and Transportation
Supervisor)
SALARY RANGE: $18.06 – $23.87/hr (Salary based on the 2026-27 CSEA Salary
Schedule) (Health Insurance/Buyout eligible position)
PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE: Duties may include: Monitoring student behavior in class, lunch,
specials, and recess, assistance with basic health, hygiene and toileting if necessary, collecting data on student behavior, escorting
student to time out (experience with non-violent crisis intervention and physical restraint), monitoring student in time out, being an
active participant on the behavior management team, assisting the class under the direction of the classroom teacher. Ability to
establish positive relationships with children; familiarity with classroom routine; clerical aptitude; ability to maintain discipline;
good judgment.
Position requires performance of School Bus Monitor duties and successful completion of a physical
performance test (PPT) and four (4) hours of monitor pre-service training prior to riding the bus, and completion of a ten (10) hour training course in August within the first year of employment.
