How the DASA Reporting Process Works
1. File a Report
Anyone can submit a DASA complaint by completing the district’s DASA complaint form.
2. Initial Review
The DASA Coordinator will review the complaint and determine the appropriate steps, including whether an investigation is needed.
3. Collection of Information
Relevant information and evidence may be gathered, including written statements, text messages, screenshots, and witness accounts.
4. Interviews
The Coordinator or designated staff will meet with the individuals involved, including the complainant, the alleged offender, and witnesses.
5. Findings
Based on a review of the evidence, the school will determine whether the behavior violates DASA and take appropriate action.
6. Notification of Outcome
Parents/guardians and involved parties will be notified of the outcome and any follow-up steps.
7. Support Services
Support services are available to both the complainant and the accused. These may include counseling, schedule adjustments, and additional supervision.
Interim Measures
If necessary, interim steps may be taken during the investigation to ensure the safety and well-being of all students involved.
